We're getting ready for the holiday season. Christmas will be arriving at Muppet Central the Friday after Thanksgiving. We'll be rolling out several features to make your Christmas merrier and more Muppety.

(1) Christmas Music – Beginning on Friday, we'll start our annual Muppet Christmas Music Marathon on Muppet Central Radio. More than 450 Christmas tunes can be heard non-stop through the holidays. See this thread for songs we're still searching for if you can help.

Listen via TorontoCast:

Listen via Tune-In:

Listen via Apple Siri and Apple Music:
"Siri, play Muppet Central Radio."
"Siri, play Muppet Central Radio on TuneIn."

Listen via Amazon Alexa:
"Alexa, play Muppet Central Radio."
"Alexa, play Muppet Central Radio on TuneIn."

Listen via Google Nest and Google Home:
"Play Muppet Central Radio."
"Play Muppet Central Radio on TuneIn."

Promote Muppet Central Radio with this short url:
bit.ly/muppetradio

(2) Christmas Memories - We're celebrating the "Muppet 25 Days of Christmas" on social media on our Facebook, Twitter and Instagram accounts. Be sure to follow us to receive these daily posts. Also, share these posts on-line to help spread Muppet cheer during the holiday season.

(3) Christmas Menus - Our annual Muppet Christmas menus will begin arriving this Friday as well and will continue leading up to 2021. All of these animated menus are beautifully designed by James Carroll. The menus will be changing every few days and can be viewed from the Muppet Central home page.

(4) Christmas Presents - By purchasing any item from Amazon.com through Muppet Central and any item from eBay through Muppet Central, you greatly help us keep the site, radio and forum running every day and every month. By doing your Christmas shopping through Muppet Central you can help us have the resources to do even more next year. Thanks in advance to everyone for your help. We're excited about what's ahead for 2021, so please use MC links whenever you make on-line purchases to help us make future upgrades as soon as possible.

Please Note: Our plan is to play Christmas music non-stop 24/7 through December 25, however, if we unexpectedly experience a power outage the station will begin playing our regular playlist temporarily. We'll get the Christmas music back on-line as soon as possible. Thanks in advance for your understanding.

It's still November, the month of Thanksgiving.

Is there a preferred site to listen with? It seems like the ads are actually playing over certain tracks.

Funny how the Christmas music immediately stops December 26, when it's still essentially the Christmas season until New Year.

All of the music streams are basically the same whether you listen via Torontocast, Tunein, Apple, Amazon or Google. Some insert a pre-roll ad when a stream is launched but otherwise they should be the same after that.

Please note that because radio ads within the stream are location-based that different users will hear different ads with varying frequency depending upon where you are. Some users may not hear any ads at all if none are currently available in your area. It's 100% determined by your location (not which stream you're listening to) and can change day-by-day.

Ideally, in an ad break, the stream should be paused so the music continues when the break ends. Sometimes this works, but sometimes the stream needs to catch up so that's likely what you hear happening.

We will likely need to change our backend software for Muppet Central Radio in quarter 1 of next year. We will definitely be testing several options behind-the-scenes so that we launch with the one that works best with our platform and audience. If there's any way to keep the music from being interrupted during breaks we'll do it.

For the last two years, we've been having Caroll Spinney tribute days on his birthday, December 26. Then the regular rotation resumes on December 27. We tried playing Christmas music beyond the 25th a few years ago, but we found the numbers drop significantly after December 25, even below normal levels throughout the year, so it makes the most sense to end the Christmas music at the end of December 25 for a variety of reasons. Hope it helps!
