peachesncream,
Yeah I hardly remember it myself, but I do remember seeing it. I always thought Rose was so beautieful, the book illurstrations were very well drawn as for a LOT of 80's children's books before everything went stupid.
I'm sorry you lost your collection in Katrina. I used to have a HUGE muppet collection which I lost in a fire 4 years ago.
I don't remeber The Letter People, but I've seen so maney kids shows that maybe I did and don't remeber. I'm a retro kids show fanatic.
I love your quote BTW.
Ryhoyarbie,
That's so cool! I didn't know HE-MAN was out on DVD. I really loved the music for that show really nicely put together.

I'm bumping this thread, wanting to add a few more to the list which I had forgotten for some reason.

Winny the Pooh
Under the Umbrella Tree
Kids Inc. (anyone remember this one?)
Also, for anyone who is interested but still doesn't know, the first two volumes of The Adventures of Teddy Ruxpin have been out for about a month, and I hear the third is scheduled for June.

I can't believe that in two whole pages, no one's mentioned what's probably the greatest animated show that Nickelodeon ever aired - Mysterious Cities of Gold.

One of the earliest and fondest memories I have of Nickelodeon is tuning in on the old color TV in our basement to watch MCoG every morning. I loved watching the adventures of Esteban, Zia and Tao as they traveled the continent of South America, flying in the Golden Condor and trying to locate the first City of Gold. I still get shivers up my spine when I remember the episode where Zia is finally reunited with her father.

If any series deserves an official, non-bootleg DVD release, MCoG is definately it.

There are so many to choose from, but if i had to choose just one, it would have to be Sesame Street, even though the show obviously the shoe goes back further than that.

Sorry, but I don't remember the song to which you are refferring, Peaches'nCream. I didn't know a guy from the Black-eyed Peas was on it! I never payed attention to celebreties when I was little; I don't do it that much these days ether. It seemed that everyone around me, both adults and children were doing it, and I have to admit I felt like something of a looser because I didn't. Those were the days, popularity...
To answer your question Zelda, I believe Under the Umbrella Tree was from the mid-to-late 80's to the early 90's. Not sure of the dates, but I think I read that somewhere.
