Dispite all the bad stuff in VMC, however, there was that spark of real Muppet magic taht made it worth watching again.

The scene where Fozzie runs through the lasors strikes me as being the scene most truthfull to Fozzie Bear's MS character from any of the movies.

:attitude: I can kind of see where you are coming from. But let me ask this, when was the last time the Muppet Characters had to do anything so much out of desperation that they would risk bodily harm.

True to Character, when was the last time Fozzy bear was portrayed as a complete and udder buffoon, Out side of MTI where he was supposed to be a half-whit.

What was that spark of magic you were talking about? May be something left over from the lasers.

May be it was Sam the Eagle talking about his Propecia, or Kermit wishing he had never been born. :attitude:

The 'wished he'd never been born' bit was taken from the old Christmas classic, It's A Wonderful Life, but I think you maybe know that. It wasn't just some weird in your face thing they made up like the cage grinding club scenes.

Ahh. Ok.

Here's the sparks of magic from that movie:

1. KERMIT: It's over. ROBIN: Yeah, but we'll all just work together and everything will be allright again. Right?
2. PIGGY: Kermit kissed me!
3. When Kermit sings "Everyone matters"
4. GONZO: Red nose, people being rude and calling names. Kermit, meet the new star of our show, Rizzo the Snow Rat. KERMIT: I thought you'd go for Rizzo the RatDeer. GONZO: Nah, that's too obvious.
5. Fozzie's face when he realises that he had to go through the lasors.
6. Fozzie's face when he realises that the sack has been left at the other side of the lasors.
7. Fozzie upset when Kermit finds him.
8. LEW ZEALAND: I'll do my fabulous singing fish!
9. LEW ZEALAND: I'll do my fabulous singing fi... KERMIT: No. no thanks. LEW: Here Murry.

Do you want some more?

There were good bits in it, and there will be good bits in WoO. maybe not for Oz fans, but for Muppet fans there will be something.

All I am going to say is take those bits that you have just mentioned and then compare them to The Muppet Movie, or MCC, or MTI, or even Return to OZ which was a Disney film full of Jim Henson’s creatures and creations. I would even say compare those moments to MGM's Wizard of OZ which is a very unfair I know. The fact is that those moments you mentions just don't cut it, not for me, and not for my kids.

In fact if you compare this Muppet Christmas special to "it's A Wonderful Life" which it was taken from the Old black and white film wins out every time. Wonderful Life is entertaining, heart warming, charming, and well just good clean fun in the spirit of the holiday, with a strong moral at the end.

The Muppets missed the mark. It is a different story when the questions you have to answer come from your kids. I mean imagine how hard it is to explain to a 5 year old why Kermit not only shouted once, but a dozen of times that he wished he had never been born.

You might say that it was not a show for young children, but id not for children then for whom? Granted the Muppet show had elements that were in a way on an adult level, but I never got the kind of question watching that as I did with this special from my kids.

Well, there you have it. (to some extent) the film is not made for children. I havn't let my brothers and sisters from 10 down see it. And my 11 year old brother I havn't let see the scene in Club Dot.

You may call me over protective, but that's why you have questains from kids and I don't.

They were thinking: What is the most horrible, awful thing that could happen to the Muppets in a world where Kermit had never been born? Scooter turning into a goth cage dancer is a horrible, awful thing. It's the exact opposite of who Scooter is. But it has to be disturbing if Kermit is to realize that the world is a much, much better place with him in it.

To say that VMX stinks or that it missed the mark is wrong, because that is totally subjective. I think it's far better than Muppet Treasure Island and Muppets From Space even if it isn't the same league as the first three movies. I like VMX a lot and, as far as I'm concerned, it's a good thing that the writers and director are working on Oz. I hope they've gotten even better since VMX.

Now, you may think that it stinks or that it missed the mark, but that's your opinion and you're entitled. Don't say it like it's fact, though.

Scooter Cage-Dancing: My opinion:

Why? Admittedly, yes, it is perhaps teh worst thing that could happen to him, but why (in a world devoid of Kermit) would he be doing that? Is it because his Uncle sold the Muppet theatre to Miss Bitterman, and he joined up there instead of the Muppet Show?

Is it caues Kermit once gave him soem serious talks on the subject when he was younger, and now they were gone? Hmm. Wonders.

Personally, I believe that if Scooter was the sweet young man that he was when he joined the Muppet Show (not as a result of) then he would be such still, no?

And also, Robin. WOuld Robin ever really do that, even without Kermit? He woudl have still had Kermit's brothers and sisters to teach him, right?

Robin was just being a busboy. Nothing really wrong with that in my book.
