I'm looking for the proper name for wooden puppets, operated by a string pulley system, like the hyenas made by the Handspring Puppet Company. Or even to an extent, their horses they produced for the live productions of, "War Horse."
I know they're not proper marionettes because they're not suspended, and are usually operated from behind/underneath. Any help?
