How exactly do you cut a ping-pong ball in half with out damaging it too much?

I would like to add how do you cut them safely? And a way that they come out even?

I just use an xacto knife. Ping pong balls are not as fragile as you might think. The knife will cut through the thin plastic skin just fine. A light but firm grip on the ping pong ball should do the trick.

It really isn't much more dangerous than cutting an apple. I just hold the ping pong ball between my index finger and thumb and I use the xacto knife to cut it down the middle. It might take a bit of a poking motion to get the knife through the thin plastic skin at first, but after that it is like cutting through butter. Well, not really, but it is pretty easy to cut.

There is actually a line that runs down the middle of every ping pong ball. It is what I use when I cut as a guide line. Follow it and your cut will make two perfect halves.
