that used to be my favorite movie when i was about 10...i used to want to be Veruca and tried out for a school talent show with her song ("I Want It Now") but didn't make it because my friends and I weren't prepared...I was bummed about that but whatever, in the grand scheme of things it probably wouldn't have been that great. I still think the original was lightyears better than the remake with Johnny Depp, he was just weird.

I loved Tim Burton's haunting version of Willy Wonka.
Johnny's role as Willy seemed awfully eccentric, I related very much to the modern Wonka. I am in many ways like this strange character. Sadly, I can't say that this had the same "magical" effect on me--so I must side with Gene Wilder's version.

Gene Wilder SANG!
Johnny Depp did not.

Though...I still loved this movie!
