I would imagine those ties would be more for little boys than for adult men. Maybe they could wear them to preschool.

Some are kiddie ties (you can tell by the lenght and the fact some are even clip-ons) but other (most) are for adults.

I own several Muppet/Sesame/Henson ties and wear them, and I'm not a kid (well not physically; I still am a kid at heart). I love "crazy" ties, they are great conversation starters and ways to express yourself while still being "dressed-up". I have tons of fun ties (including some of the Sesame ones on wildties.com). I have ties from Sesame Street to The Simpsons; and from Star Wars to Where's Waldo. Each tie is special and important to me (I won't wear just any "silly" tie). The image has to be meaningfull, and the Sesame ties really do that. I would love to get a Fraggle tie, (but sadly I don't think they exist). Although I "have to" wear a tie a lot, having Oscar and Slimey around my neck makes me able to stand it. Oh and if you are wondering, I do have some "normal" plain ties for those times when I need to be more serious and respectful (some people just don't appreciate a good Big Bird tie).

Well, when I was in preschool, I used to wear regular-size (adult) neckties. For little boys, one can adjust the tie to the right length and tie the tie at the right spot and tuck the extra(dangling)portion of the tie into the shirt.

I must say, I never have worn a tie.
But then again, I'm a girl.

hey! if you want, wear one anyway. It'd look cute if done well. We own a bunch of the 1997-98 Kermit and Sesame Street silk ties. They are super! Bought some of them in the former Sesame Street Store.

Cheers,

I know that this is an old thread, but since the end of 2006 I have only worn "normal" plain ties appropriate for either fun stuff or those times when one needs to be serious and respectful, and I have also found out that despite what I posted before on this thread about adjusting a regular-size (adult) necktie to fit a little boy by adjusting the tie to the right length, tying the tie at the right spot, and tucking the extra (dangling) portion of the tie into the shirt, the aforementioned idea would be perceived as tacky. I looked up the idea on Google but couldn't find it anywhere, instead I found this tutorial on converting adult-size ties into kiddie ties:
However, if the makers of these Muppet/Sesame/Henson ties intended them to be for little boys, the ties would have been kiddie ties when the consumer first purchased them, they wouldn't have left it to the consumer to convert them. The reason many foods we eat are enclosed in a non-edible part that we need to remove before eating it and the farmers leave it to the consumer to remove (such as eggs, bananas, melon and lemon) is because that's how nature made them.
