Why did these "Tales from Muppetland" characters not appear on "The Muppet Show"

I've become curious as to why the following characters from the "Tales from Muppetland" specials did not appear on "The Muppet Show":

Splurge
Cinderella's stepsisters
Thig
Lothar
Santa's elves
some of the various other background frackles
Taminella
Leroy the Donkey
Mordicai Sledge
Farmer Lardpork
Mean Floyd
Caleb Siles

Why did these characters get left out of "The Muppet Show" and later Muppet productions?

Some of these characters probably would've worked well on "The Muppet Show".

Especially Lothar. I finally figured out a way to use him in a Muppet Show outline! More on that as I develop it.

Gotta get back to work on these, I promised one a while ago that's been sitting ever since. Got a lot of hours at work though. Well, ya can't rush inspiration.

Don't know why they were never used. That would be a question for Jerry Juhl and the other Muppet writers, or perhaps Frank Oz or Jerry Nelson. Maybe Jerry Nelson can answer it, but I'm really not sure.
