I believe ABC brought back the Drew Carey Show and Whose Line for it's summer programming. When it goes back to it's fall programming there are no guarantees.

I also saw last night's episodes. The first one with Richard Simmons has got to be the funniest episode yet of Whose Line. My sides still hurt from laughing.

what i don't get is, why would abc just cancel whose line is it anyways. i'm sure drew, ryan, colin, and everyone else wouldn't mind doing it for another year because that show is funny. i guess abc doesn't know what a good show is....

there's one show with robin williams which is halarious. there is another show that was done around halloween where instead of drew giving points, he just throws a handful of candy to everyone and the candy pretty much hits the floor. i was laughing so hard because it was halarious. it reminded me when i give my dog a treat and i throw it out her and she just looks at me. that's what colin, ryan, wayne were doing.....

ABC is known for its bad decisions since being bought by Disney. In the last year they changed timeslots for the Practice (that kills many shows in case there are some who are unaware) and they axed some critically acclaimed new shows before having time to gain an audience.

I don't like the US version of Who's Line that much, but it's much better than the other garbage being produced by ABC. It's also inexpensive. I also think that the Drew Carrey show should probably end, but I don't like how they're treating the program - making it fizzle out instead of telling them what's up and letting them go out with the wonderful finale they deserve.

BTW - half the Practice actors will be gone next year - including its top stars Dylan McDermott, Lara Flynn Boyle, Kelli Williams and Lisa Gay Hamilton! I don't know what they plan on doing. Rumor is they're going to get a lot of famous guest stars each week and turn it into some sort of dramatic Love Boat for lawyers. If this is how ABC treats one of its few top award winning shows than what hope do the rest have? On the other hand, NBC is looking really good for next season.

Yeah, I am really confused by ABC's game plan, if they even have one! Caneceling, and possibly ruining, your best shows is not exactly the way to go about drawing an audience. Are they planning something super extra special for next year? Probably not, but, that's the ONLY reason I can think to cancel and ruin these shows.

The Practice as a new Love Boat??? :grouchy:

LOL! Well it sounded like the loveboat to me the way they explained what they were going to do. ABC is losing money so they have made cuts in every department. Funny enough, their reality programming is the only thing roping in viewers these days.

reality tv needs to die. i have no idea how these shows find an audience. i have no idea why abc or any of the other networks still want to make these shows....they're just plain crap.....they'll have a reality show on to take the place of whose line or the drew carey show?....that's not a smart move on abc....people will revolt and complain to abc about these 2 shows on why they're off the air...

Reality TV is addicting. I absolutely HATED Celebrity Mole. But, I watched it once, and got hooked. I watched every episode. I hated every minute of it, but watched every single episode! ABC Family had that Celebrity Mole marathon, and I watched it. I don't know why, but I watched it!

Reality TV is a drug, and EVERYBODY gets hooked. Fortunately, that is the only Reality TV series I've gotten hooked too so far. And I do not plan on ever watching any other series... here's hoping they don't come out with another Celebrity Mole. :embarrassed:

ABC is insane to cancel Whose Line. It must be cheap for them to produce, and it's easy to re-run, since there is no continuity to the episodes. And it's soooo funny!
However, since they moved it to Friday nights this season, I haven't seen a single episode. (Why not air it on Mondays? there's nothing good on Monday nights!)

If you're a Canadian fan, you may want to catch Drew and the guys doing their improv show live at Casino Rama July 10th.
