Considering we now have Mahna Mahna merchandise, I would guess JHC owns the rights.

As old a song as it is, I wouldn't doubt that the song itself is in public domain, but JHC would own THEIR versions of the song!

I believe it takes 50 years for a song to be in the public domain. So we're looking at around 2018 or something like that for the original Umilini version (if the public domain rules are even applicable here).
