I disagree. Disney way overcharges. MFS and TMTM have long been $5 dvds under Sony. Under Disney they'd continue their tradition of ripping off parents in this struggling economy by charging $20 or more for dvds(not even blu ray)

Also I really do not care for the Disney rerelease of The Muppet Movie. Other than the Pepe thing added, it seems to be missing some of the great stuff from the original release. All Disney cares about is squeezing as much money as possible from customers, because they know they can.
I KNOW, THAT'S EXACTLY WHAT I THINK!! The only reason I have MFS on DVD (and am planning to get MTM too) is because of the genorous prices they have.
Let me do the math, $5.00 for Muppets From Space, 88 minutes long + live video commentary + outtakes + music video = a really really good deal. Same goes for The Muppets Take Manhattan, 94 minutes long + Jim Henson Interviews + Muppetisms = awesome deal. My parents let me buy those films because of the generous realisitic prices Sony puts on those films, letting parents loosen their wallets a bit to buy cheap high quality entertainment for the whole family. Now compare that to Disney. SIGH, The Muppet Movie, 94 minutes long + pepe profiles for $20 = FAIL! Same goes for GMC and MTI, (MCC had some ok bonuses on their). Really if MFS and MTM were owned by Disney, I could only imagine what they'd do to them.

MUPPETS FROM SPACE (DVD; 2005 KERMIT'S 50TH EDITION)
  • FEATURE FILM
  • BONUSES = BACKSTAGE DISNEY PEPE'S PROFILE: RIZZO THE RAT WHO SMELLS A RAT
  • Bonus Trailers
  • PRICE = $19.99
The Muppets Take Manhattan (DVD; 2005 Kermit's 50th edition)
  • FEATURE FILM
  • Backstage Disney Pepe's Profile = Rowlf, the 'ol brown eared piano playing sensation
  • Bonus Trailers
  • PRICE = $19.99
Disney really loves ripping off "us" DVD owners, stripping all the bonuses like the camera test or MTI commentary and replacing it with a cheesy 5 min. pepe short, and doubling the price! Nowadays it's even worst, MMW will come out on DVD with a $20 price, but have 1 bonus, REALLY! Most new DVDs are $14.99, and they are chockful of commentary, deleted scenes, DECENT COVER ART, behind the scenes featurettes and more. THANK GOD MTM and MFS are under Sony or the only way I could afford muppet DVDs was to buy them at thrift stores or save my money up for like half a year.
