Superman is a fabulous super-hero character. He's faster than a speeding bullet. He's more powerful than a locomotive. He's able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. And he's a fighter for truth, justice and the American way. And he's beloved in many other countries including where I live Australia.

Who can forget the traditional exclamation.
Look! Up in the sky! It's a bird! It's a plane! No it's Superman!

Who thinks Superman is simply the best?

I do! I do! (Of course, some may already know that. )

I never really got into the Man of Steel until I started finding out more about the new movie this summer, Superman Returns, and then I became a real fanatic. There is no doubt in my mind that Brandon Routh will be a perfect Superman; some have already said that he'll make us forget all about Chris Reeve, but I beg to differ. Chris Reeve was an awesome Superman and no one can do better than what he did in Superman I and II. And though Superman III and IV will go down in history as the worst of the four films, Reeve still pulled off some great performances, especially as "Evil Supes" in the third one.

My brother has a vast collection of Superman comics that I read in my spare time, and some of the best ones have General Zod and the Fortress of Solitude in them. Just an hour ago, I heard Five for Fighting's "It's Not Easy" and I cranked it up pretty loud, with thoughts of Superman running through my mind as I listened to it. The funniest thing was the fact that I was wearing my Superman hat as I was listening to it.

I can't wait for this Thursday's new episode of "Smallville". Milton Fine (a.k.a. "Brainiac") is supposed to be back and teaming up with Lex Luthor. If this partnership is going to turn out the way it did in the comics, then you can bet Luthor's gonna be betrayed.

Superman is the best superhero out there!

Yeah Superman's cool. I see they have some of the 1950's show with George Reeves available on dvd, with more on the way this summer. I'm thinking of ordering a season. I never really saw it too much and I've heard the stories are very well done (though I'm sure the look and flying effects are quite outdated!)
I loved the first two Superman movies, esp. the second one which had some great scenes of Niagara Falls! Superman 3 was clearly inferior, but still derived enjoyment from it. Loved the fight scene. And Richard Pryor helped (although some felt such humor was out of place for a Superman movie).
Superman 4, however, was just plain dreadful. The flying scene effects were even awful. inexcuseable for a movie that was made more recently than the other ones!
A Superman cartoon, as has been brought up here before, appeared on classic Sesame Street too (about words beginning with the letter s, like Superman himself).
And George Reeves made a guest appearance in the "I Love Lucy" epsiode "Lucy and Superman". It had one of my favorite lines of all time from that show:

Ricky: (Shouting angrily at Lucy for walking on the ledge outside pretending to be Superman) "Lucy, this is the craziest thing you've done in all the 15 years we've been married!"
Superman: Wait a minute. Do you mean you've been married to this woman for 15 years?
Ricky: 15 years!
Superman: And they call me Superman?!

Great one!
