I think he'd be a good fit. His music is actually kind of good and I could see him singing a silly song with the Muppets. He's a lot more than Shallow Hal.

I dunno about JB...

Tenacious D was on Crank Yankers, so whether that is a sign that they don't like the Muppets or that they do like working with puppets is opinions until spoken about. At any rate, Tenacious D is a great band, a band I love very much; just not with the Muppets. Being they are a novelty/humor band with a sense of humor that isn't exactly for children (anyone who has seen them live will probably remember the films they showed at the shows, thus proving my point), I just don't see it working unless they seriously tone down, which would not be their style at all.

Alice Cooper? Ozzy Ozbourne? Does anyone remember Muppet history? I don't think it could work, not that it's my top choice. Not all of TD's songs are offensive.

See, everyone points to Alice Cooper when talking about Muppet Controversy. The truth is, Alice Cooper might have been provocative in those days, but those were extremely different times. Yes, he talked about "evil" things, and yes he wore make-up, but that is about where it ended.

Furthermore, though his appearance on TMS was controversial, the actual show itself was just a normal TMS episode. It was as if a different star decided to be "evil" and dressed up crazy. That is because, (if you believe Alice Cooper to be the controversial guy everyone makes him out to be,) he had to have toned his performance down. The D are not keen to doing such things.

Ozzy - oh come on. Its not like they worked together when the Prince of Darkness was still tearing up pigeons with Black Sabbath. The Ozzy they worked with is a washed-up reality series star, with little more than excessive cursing as his claim. I mean look at him in the "She Drives Me Crazy" video. Nothing weird about him there.

If The D were to tone themselves down, I'd see no problem. But, like I said, they are not keen to turning off their extreme humor. Thus, I don't see it.

Heh...Thanks Sarah. A nice change from the normal resounding negative responses in threads where I post conflicting views.

Black isn't nearly as controversial for our time as Cooper was in the 70s. Black has toned down and changed his act for various film roles. What would make you think he wouldn't do it for the Muppets? His music really isn't that controversial and the level of his persona is as malleable as silly putty. I think the Muppets would be interested in working with him, but it probably won't happen. I could see them easily blend and Black wanting to just to get the gig. Just can't agree with you here. :embarrassed:
