Come to think of it, most decks have two Jokers and one usually looks slightly different from the other, such as missing a color or something. Also, in some decks, the Joker looks like a Joker, but in other decks he doesn't. I remember one deck of cards where the Joker was a ringmaster and he's been other characters, depending on the card deck's theme.
I've sometimes wondered about the origin of playing cards. I've often wondered why the Joker wasn't called the "Jester". And why not a Duke, Prince, or Princess instead of a Jack? What the heck is a Jack anyway? How did they decide on hearts, spades, clubs, and diamonds? Anyone know and care to share what I'm too lazy to research myself?
