On the subject of Yoshi, the game creators always wanted to add a ride on dinosaur/dragon character, but were unable to fit one in until Super Nintendo, due to the limitations of the 4 button/control pad system (I count the start and select buttons as buttons) and the limitations of the memory that NES had.

I'll tell ya... thanks to Super Mario World and Yoshi's Story, there was a BIG Yoshi hype in my class during the late 90s (1998 specifically)... if you had the N64 beanies, you were cool. I still have my Yoshi beanies... green, yellow and red, but I never was able to get my hands on the elusive blue - I've tried eBay several times, but the bids for those things SKY-ROCKET!

Matter of fact, one of the first games I got for GBA was Yoshi's Island... man, Mario was annoying as a baby, lol.
