It's interesting how the last time I stopped by this thread was when I announced plans for a Muppets/Jurassic Park crossover, because I'm back on here again to announce my plans to restart on it. The story has now been retitled "Jurassic Park Dinosaurs" and will pretty much be the same story I had originally, only with a couple of original characters remaining (i.e. Brandy Malcolm and Sean Grant) and a predominantly Muppets/Disney cast of characters. My new version now includes Gary, Walter, and Mary with Kermit, Fozzie, Gonzo, and Miss Piggy - and, of course, the cast of Dinosaurs (who are the main focus of the story). It will also be set in the same continuity as "Outatime" (my Muppets/Back to the Future crossover). :fanatic:

I'll start on it once I've finished with "Outatime" - in the meantime, check out the new poster I made just for the story...

It seems like every time I come back to Muppet Central to post in this particular thread, there's this milestone or special occurrence that should be noted, such as the fact that this thread is celebrating its 8th anniversary today (NOTE: I first started it on July 1st, 2006).

It's been over a year since I've been on here, and I apologize for anyone who might've missed me or has been looking for me (things have been quite busy with having a job and entering internship this fall). But I've come bearing some good news: THE MARVELOUS MUPPETS ARE RETURNING!

After thinking long and hard about it, I've decided to resurrect the very fanfic series that I made my mark here on MC with. The new MM won't be a continuation of the old series but rather a reboot with a new lead character and references to the most recent Muppet films as they mix with rebooted Marvel films like The Amazing Spider-Man and X-Men: Days of Future Past.

I'm expecting to restart in the winter of 2015 (which I realize is a long ways from now, but I need the time to gather my notes for the first story). In the meantime, for those who have never read any installments of the old series, you can through these links:

Hey Sean, glad you're still with us. If you want, I can help tweak those links so they redirect to the stories through their individual titles. Additionally, if you want, I can add them to the 2014 Fanfic Library Index, unless you prefer to leave them here for your own need while working on the rebooted versions.

BTW: I fully understand the creative process, reaching a milestone in your "nowhere plans", only for doubt to creep in and have you crash/crush it back down to beginning at Point Zero over again.

Hope you post soon, it's great to read your stuff. :jim:

Hey, Count (long time, no see)!

Yeah, it's totally cool if you redirect the stories and add them to the 2014 Fanfic Library Index. Just making sure those new to the forums know where to find them.

I think it's for the best to start back from scratch with MM though. I was just thinking after I saw X-Men: DOFP last May how much I'd missed the old series and wanted to reboot it, much like the Spider-Man and X-Men film series did. I actually have one story (titled Marvel Mayhem) "in production" that centers on the Marvel Cinematic Universe films, and there's one Muppet character (this guy - :fanatic:) who's in it. But nothing can replace "Marvelous Muppets" in my heart, so that's why I'm starting over.

Sounds good. Are you planning to reboot your F4+2 fic as well due to the movie reboot? Last Marvel film I saw was Captain America 2 with my best friend when we were in New Orleans in April though I haven't seen either Amazing Spider-Man films nor DOFP nor even Maleficent which I wanted to watch. Meh. LMK if you need any help brainstorming ideas or stuff.

Yep. I'm focusing on the films outside of the Disney/Marvel ones (even though they're pretty much ALL Disney in the end). Whether Bunsen and Beaker will be members of the FF in the new MM series remains to be seen.

The first Amazing Spider-Man is really good; the second one is good itself, in my opinion, even though most have found certain issues with it. DOFP is one of the best flicks I've seen this year (next to Captain America and, just recently, Transformers). Maleficent was good, too.

And I will definitely let you know if I need any help.

Hey, everyone. Sorry it's been a long while since I've posted on this thread - lots that's been happening in my world as of late. :embarrassed:

Firstly, last month, I've kicked off the 5th anniversary celebration of my World of Disney series with chapters I've revisited from the first story, which features the Muppets as main characters. They're all blogged over on Blogger and can be read here: http://worldofdisneyrevisited.blogspot.com/2015/01/world-of-disney-prologue-w-commentary.html

More Muppet Mayhem is coming to the series with a new story titled The Disney Access coming later this year. To stay updated on the proceedings, you can check here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/World-of-Disney/148360365209102

Secondly, I've been working on the reboot to my old Marvelous Muppets series, which has undergone changes as of late, due to the recent news of Spider-Man coming to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Originally, the story was going to focus on the worlds established from films like The Amazing Spider-Man, X-Men: Days of the Future Past, and the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot; but, now, I've thought it best to take AMS out of the equation and center on just X-Men and F4. I've even made a new poster to represent where I'm going with the fic here...

The new series will feature all the elements of the old one with a few minor changes to accommodate the new movies (remember when the Fraggles were mutants like the X-Men and Bunsen & Beaker were members of the F4 - yep, that's all coming back). :smirk::dreamy::coy::sigh::excited::confused::eek: Also, there will be one main human character based on a real-life friend of mine, and she will harbor a surprising twist that connects the new series to the old one. The new Marvelous Muppets will go online in March (next month).

That's all I have for now. I'm going to spend much more time around MC rather than just pop in occasionally, so I hope to get to know some of the newfolk and read some of their fan fiction as well.

Hey, everyone! Got a huge update on the NEW Marvelous Muppets!

The new series will work as a series of short stories - each one posted in one thread to tell an overarching story. The lead human character's name is KaeLeigh Marie-Cecilia - she bears a strong connection to the original series that plays into the new one in the coolest way.

The first story will be on MC March 18th! It'll feature :grouchy: and !

After resurrecting my old "Marvelous Muppets" series last week, I'm currently making plans to bring back another classic that I wrote nearly 10 years ago here on MC - Sesame, DC! :wisdom::stick_out_tongue::frown::grouchy::insatiable::super::batty::laugh:

Details are scarce for now, but I plan this one to be another reboot of the previous series, centering on new and original human characters with our friends from Sesame Street and the heroes of the DC Universe from TV shows like The Flash and Arrow, as well as movies like Man of Steel and next year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice!

Hmm, while I'm intrigued by this, I would advise you consider one DC cinematic path you take given that they themselves have said that the movies won't necessarily connect with the TV series. If you choose the TV route with Flash and Arrow, keep in mind they both spun off from Smallville and there'll be a web-exclusive six-part series focusing on Vixen next fall, along with the potential of Atom potentially as well. Haven't seen the last few episodes, I'm plugged into catching up with Faceoff tonight, then going back to Flash and Arrow starting tomorrow. It's been weird that along with Gotham they've all been given two separate hiatus periods, it kind of lends creedence to a potential crossover between them all though we're waiting to find out if that truly does happen.
