What year was this song made?

I love Billy Joel; he's one of my all-time fav singers. My fav song of his is sadly his least well-known: "Vienna". It's a beautiful song and I wouldn't mind including it in one of my outlines. But to be as accurate and careful as possible, I need to know what year it was recorded. Thanx!

1977, Princeton. Probably my fave songs of his are "Piano Man" and "Uptown Girl." "Tell her about it" is real catchy too.

I love Billy Joel's music, too, and his Vienna is definately one of my favourites also. I have his 2-CD set of Greatest Hits and I desperately wish Vienna had been put on it; it would have completed it, in my eyes. A few of my other favourites are;

Big Shot
The Night Is Still Young
Uptown Girl
Pressure
Always A Woman To Me
The Stranger

Greatest Hits compilations don't always give a complete picture, though. That's why some are called "The Best of"...although usually those follow chart singles as well.

What about:

Laura (Nylon Curtain)
Pressure (full version from Nylon Curtain)
All for Leyna (Glass Houses)
Honesty (52nd Street)

These are killer Billy Joel tunes that were not singles.

Man, maybe I'll make a "Best of" myself!!

One more thing...

Can anybody tell me what the song means?(here's the lyrics):

Slow down you crazy child
You're so ambitious for a juvenile
But then if you're so smart
Tell me why are you still so afraid?
Where's the fire, what's the hurry about?
You better cool it off before you burn it out
You got so much to do but only so many hours in a day
But you know that when the truth is told
That you can get what you want or you can just get old
You're gonna kick off before you even get halfway through
When will you realize
Vienna waits for you

Slow down you're doing fine
You can't be everything you wanna be before your time
Although it's so romantic on the borderline tonight
Too bad but it'd the life you lead
You're so ahead of yourself that you forgot what you need
Though you can see when you're wrong
You know you can't always see when you're right
You got your passion, you got your pride
But don't you know that only fools are satisfied
Dream on, but don't imagine they'll all come true
When will you realize
Vienna waits for you

Slow down you crazy child
And take the phone off the hook and disappear for a while
It's all right, you can afford to lose a day or two
When will you realize
Vienna waits for you
