There were numerous skits of what looked like big foam numbers that would have a musical background of which the music sounded tense( something like this: dum dum dum duuuum dum)
and these numbers would pop in and out of a playground?

Any help would be appreciated,

I'm not sure if there's an actual name to these skits, but...
if it's the same one I'm thinking of, kids would count the numbers as they popped up, for example, a number would emerge from a park bench, some of the numbers would have polka dots on them...and yes, there was background music.

Am I anywhere close to what you're thinking of?

I'm gonna assume that skit dates to the early 90's...
