What was the point?

I liked the Around The Corner set. Also, it sounds to me like you were asking what the point was of having an around the corner set just to get rid of it. The set was around for six years, and when it debuted the producers probably never thought they'd get rid of it eventually.

Also, Mr. Hanford was around before this set was introduced. Carlo also worked at Hooper's Store, so he could have stayed after they stopped showing around the corner.

it's funny in the very 1st season the street didn't bend at the play area between the apartment and Hooper's Store. it was just streight and I think it was mentioned here they changed it the 2nd season to I guess make it easier for kids to see everything or something like that. sometimes i think psycologists just make a big to do about everything.

Carroll Spinney explained in his book the reason they "bent" the street and expanded the area between 123 and Hooper's Store was so they can get better camera angles. Plus the original set was a little too cramped.

So, did the street for Around The Corner have an actual name or was that supposed to be its name? For years, it was a mystery as to what street name was the other Sesame Street lamp post sign. Now, after Around The Corner has come and gone, I'm still not sure. LOL
