Yes that's right though I think it may have been spelled Gags Beazley. No difference at all in pronunciation of course.

I also just found this
"Jack Burns' character name "Gags Beasley" is actually the name of Fozzie Bear's joke writer on "The Muppet Show". Jack was head writer for the show's first season of snl" that's interesting I never knew this lol
