What happened to David Lazer?

May i ask Muppet Boffins, what ever happened to David Laser who i believe the Executive Producer for the Muppet Show, and left a tv station Jim once worked at to join the muppets, actually he was quite a key figure in the muppet world, but whatever happened to him? i saw a lot of interview with him on Muppet of Men!
