My brother and his kids gave me some comfy socks (which I needed) and some single-estate Stash tea (hooked on the Assam now). Also I received "One of Our Thursdays Is Missing" by Jasper Fforde, "The Bloody Chamber" by Angela Carter, a tourguide of New Zealand with a travel dvd, chocolates, cash (which I used as travel funding -- airport food is overpriced!)...but the best surprise was discovering that my mom had boxes of things of mine which I'd assumed were given away, lost, or destroyed years ago! I rummaged through a few of them, and though I wound up advising her to give a lot of it to Goodwill, came home with a wolf t-shirt I'd forgotten I owned and my badger skull! Gives me hope perhaps the rest of my skull collection is packed away somewhere still.
