Kids always loved Sesame Street and it was very popular with young audiences in its traditional format. Sesame Workshop doesn't seem to believe in "If it's not broken, don't fix it."

It was broke though. Ratings were on a decline till the format change. If they didn't change it we wouldnt have Sesame at all soon.

We don't really have Sesame Street at all now. In the past, Sesame Street always found a way to pull up their ratings and make their unique formula work with modifications when necessary, but always with their own individual touch. Now it seems that they're "making it work" by simply copying everyone else. I know that the original minds behind the show were capable of much better things.
