ok, let me run this idea by you guys. I thought it was quite funny.

For Dan and I's wedding we are having my cousin Dj (no hes never done it before, but he will be just fine) we got all the stuff... anyway, I was trying to get some songs for the reception, and was looking at songs to play during the garter belt retrieval/ throw. And you know the usual... You Sexy Thing - Hot Chocolate, I want Candy - Bow Wow Wow, HotLegs - Rod Stewartk, some random stripper music or even the Mission Impossible Theme. BUT as I was looking at this I had a funny idea. Ever seen Top Gun? know the song Danger Zone? (some call it the US Air Force's unofficial theme song, even though it was a Navy movie about airplanes) anyway, if you read the lyrics, it would be quite comical to play it during the time he is going for the garter. I wasnt going to tell him and just do it. LOL what do you think? if you havet heard it here is a link to the song (oh by the way, if you dont know, My fiancee is in the Air Force and is going to become a Pilot, making this very funny... I hope)

Revvin' up your engine
Listen to her howlin' roar
Metal under tension
Beggin' you to touch and go

Highway to the Danger Zone
Ride into the Danger Zone

Headin' into twilight
Spreadin' out her wings tonight
She got you jumpin' off the track
And shovin' into overdrive

Highway to the Danger Zone
I'll take you
Right into the Danger Zone

You'll never say hello to you
Until you get it on the red line overload
You'll never know what you can do
Until you get it up as high as you can go

Out along the edges
Always where I burn to be
The further on the edge
The hotter the intensity

Highway to the Danger Zone
Gonna take you
Right into the Danger Zone

Highway to the Danger Zone

Hi KM! I just got married myself in May and I had my cousin DJ as well. I love the idea of your playing Danger Zone while the garter is being taken off and thrown! Way to be unique! As far as dance songs, we noticed people really got up and danced to some of these classics:

Shout
Twist and Shout
YMCA
Loveshack
Walking on Sunshine
Electric Slide
Staying Alive

I don't know, maybe they're overdone at receptions but they seem to be crowd pleasers. Good luck with everything!

Hmmm... Dunno...
Shout: The Righteous Brothers.
Twist and Shout: The Eisley Brothers or The Beatles remake.
YMCA: The Village People.
Loveshack: The B-52's.
Walking on Sunshine: Katarina and The Good Waves.
Stayin' Alive: The Bee Gees.

OMG, you had to live through Stayin' Alive and YMCA at your wedding Beth? You poor thing.
And yes, Loveshack is that popular if you can call it that. Still won't forget the cruise from a few years ago where a group of young adults just kinda took over the Johnny Rockets and kept making a show of themselves with repeated playings of that song.

KM, it's an interesting choice... And if it's what you want for your wedding, then go for it. Just hope there's no bad feelings/misunderstandings between you and your man-to-be.
Do we know this Dan BTW?

How embarrasing, I forgot you two weren't married yet until I saw this thread, and then re-read a MySpace comment you left me a while back, lol!

Um, well, I always thought "He'll Make Me Happy" from The Muppets Take Manhattan was one of the most beautiful wedding songs. I'd like it played at my wedding, but I suppose it'd be awful hard to convince the future Mrs. Super Scooter to play a number performed by... Frank Oz and Jim Henson. :zany:

No you dont know him. Not a MCer

Also, it wont hurt his feeling, I think he will find it quite funny. It really fits him, he is the bigest flyboy you will ever meet (and I love him! :flirt:). Like I said, he goes to the Air Force Academy, hes all about air planes.

Oh, I think those are all great ideas! Ed and Beth, could these ever be over-done at weddings? It's funny; every time I hear the song Shout on the radeo, I get this urge to go to a wedding!
I also think that's a hilarious idea for the garder!
