Hey, I have a little question regarding the one-shot Sesame character Warren Wolf. I never saw this sketch before, but I heard several people talking about it, and it made me curious.
I was wondering why the character was created in the first place? Here are my three theories...
THEORY 1
The Kermit puppet they were using before they made this sketch began to look a little beat-up and worn out, so they began building a new Kermit (you'll notice that a new Kermit puppet was used on "The Great Muppet Caper," that is, according to Muppet Wiki). But they were only half-completed on the new Kermit, and they were supposed to make a Sesame Street News Flash sketch (the one with Dr. Nobel Price "inventing" the microphone), so they quickly whipped together Warren Wolf and had Henson use that instead of Kermit.
THEORY 2
Sometimes they have alternate news reporters substitute for main broadcasters. Usually the sub reporter announces that he is substituting for the main reporter. The people at CTW/Henson decided to simulate this.
THEORY 3
Kermit was too busy with "The Great Muppet Caper," so they decided to make a substitute reporter Muppet for that.
Does anyone think my theories could be possible?
