Strangely even as a crazy Muppet kid in the 1980's, I never had any Muppet shirts or saw any...tho I probably woulda gotten picked on even more. I did have a Fraggle Rock lunchbox!
In the late 70's and early 80's the popoular t-shirts were the ones that had those "iron on" type art on them. I had one w/ the Muppet Show logo and another w/ Kermits face on it. Loved them! I also had 2 diferent Muppet lunch boxes, 1 Dark Crystal lunch box that I proudly represented!

Long Live the Muppets!

What I wouldn't give to go back to the 1980's...specifically the mid to late 80's!

It's funny, people have actually tried to out knowledge me when it comes to Muppets since the new movie came out (one girl, in particular, tried yesterday, but when she couldn't answer my "Who's Bill Barretta?" question I put her in her place).
Hahah! People try to to that to me too. And I'm like, seriously? I give them one obscure fact and they're done. I win. You lose. K bye.

I also get a lot of compliments on my Muppet shirts. I have one shirt that has several Muppets on it and people like to point out their favorites. Hahaha. I get a lot of compliments on my other character shirts too.

I've gotten compliments about my Miss Piggy, and Pigs in Space apparel, and merchandise. My then boyfriend bought me a Janice Vinylmation last April after I lost my Dr. Teeth one; he was hoping for me to get First Mate Piggy after he bought it. xP

The 80's were GREAT!
Er...are we living in the same dimension?? Nuclear arms race, "Day After" paranoia rampant, homeless Vietnam vets, AIDS, cocaine, rampant blatant conspicuous consumption, Reaganomics and "trickle-down" theory, Tammy Faye and Jim Bakker, the rise of Saturday morning toy comemrcials disguised as kids' programming... uh. Yeah. LOTS to love.

Well since 2002 companies at the mall and all over have tried to capitalize on "80's geek chic", but NONE of them can get it right. Ive never seen an accurate represenation of 80's culture, vibe, music, fashion, etc in the modern era. Theres a certain magic that cannot be reproduced from the 1981-1990 period.
