>>> Rest in peace, Walter, and may you deliver the latest breaking news reports from that news desk up in the sky.

Thinks about that for a moment...what kind of news would come from the sky?

OMG - WALTER CRONKITE WILL BE DOING THE WEATHER REPORTS! What a concept - weather reports one can trust!

No waidaminit - that can't be right - what else would be the implications of a news desk in the sky...

NEWSMAN: "Here is a Muppet News Flash..." (pencil falls on Newsman) "What the?"

CRONKITE'S VOICE FROM ABOVE: "Sorry about that - dropped my pencil - could you toss that back up here please?"

NEWSMAN (flinging pencil up): "Oh, very well. Just make sure you don't..." (coffee falls on Newsman) "...spill your coffee while you're trying to catch the pencil"

Seriously though, Cronkite's passing is sad because we've lost our last living symbol of the true spirit of journalism at its best when the (American) press is at its worst.
