I know this may sound quite stange, but I've noticed that certain muppets have certain shaped uvulas. I was wondering if anyone has patterns for the different uvula shapes.

Just so theres no confusion, this is not a typo.
The Uvula is that thing at the back of your throat.

yes! I looked it up it is the tonsils. Why didn't you say so? :excited: and that is an interesting question, how is it done?

Not quite tonsils, the little dangly thing in the back of your throat, and the entire opening in the back as well.

Do you specifically want to know how the muppet's did it, or in general how one would do it. If it is the latter, I just made a pupet with a 2dimensional uvula tonight. I covered the mouth plate in black belt, then cut another covering out of dark red felt. I cut out the negative space (in other words, the hole, leaving the uvula as part of the red felt) and there you go, a cool throat pattern.

Now my question is, what's the best tongue placement- insid the hole, outside, on the edge? I tried looking at some muppet pics for inspiration but couldn't get a clear look.

I think kermit's is a good one.
where the tongue is on the edge of the uvula.
With the tongue overlapping it, it looks like the uvula is further back.
This is a comic layout thing, if you overlap stuf, you get the sense of depth of field. even though it's 2-D.
