No, it's a closed cell foam so it doesn't have pores or a ppi rating. If you have ever used Foamie or craft foam that's actually L200 foam. When puppet builders use L200 foam it is usually either 1/2" or 3/4" inch sheets or a big block that a puppet is carved from.

L200 (there are also variations like L400 and L500) has a number of advantages over open celled foams like regular poly foam or reticulated foam in that it is very durable, strong and keeps it's shape well. I tend to make most puppet bodies out of L200 foam or similar closed-cell foams and make heads, hands and arms out of either Scott Foam or regular polyfoam.

It was an interesting article that John wrote. It reminds me that I have never put up my step by step attempt at a realistic (although I admitted to the client that it would have cartoonish characteristics; and I was told that was fine), cat puppet/prop. Anyways, John's puppet appears to be puppeteer friendly in that it looks extremely light weight. Very cool.

I actually got to meet Mark Gale the puppeteer. He is a really nice guy, very talented too.

Christmas break is here and there is some time to do things I have wanted to do, so I will try my very best to post the tutorial soon. There are actually lots of pictures, that I have.

I tried to access that page from a computer at a school here and it was blocked with the message "Access Denied: Page contains sex/acts."

What on earth did you do with that cat?!?! :stick_out_tongue:

That's not good. It works fine on one of my computers, the other one has been acting up so I am not sure what is going on. Please try the link from another computer and let me know if there is still a problem.

Anyone else with any problems like that please let me know.
