The tail is on the coat to allow for easier movement of the leg joints. With the tail on the coat you can have Deadly sit easier.

Question: I read on Michael's review that Deadly has a ball-jointed waist, which he compared to those of Statler and Waldorf. Now I could never quite get the waists on S & W to work quite right, so has anyone else experienced "waist trouble" with Deadly?
