Helloo - I've been thinking of a small problem recently - I know Fulton Mackay did our UK version of Fraggle Rock - and I also know he died before it finished airing - bless him - so I would like to know, did he manage to do all 96 episodes or does our UK version have fewer episodes than the original? Anyone know?

I believe he did the first couple seasons, then passed away. The US version then aired in the UK for the remainder of the show's run.

I'm sure someone in the UK will chime in with more info though.

That was when they re-ran it years later on Nickelodeon UK, they used the USA version instead of the UK one. When it was originally broadcast on network TV in the UK, two more lighthouse keepers were used after Fulton died. Simon O'Brien and then John Gordon Sinclair.

Thank you - so, we did actually get the complete series with the lighthouse keeper - that's a comfort - thank you again.

I can't help but wonder if there was a UK version of Manny's Land of Carpets ... :smirk:

I don't know...but it's noteworthy that it was one of the few skipped over in an otherwise unbroken run of episodes released on home video over here.

John Gordon-Sinclair made his first appearance on January 10th 1988 in "Born To Wander." Simon O'Brien had replaced him by the start of the following year, although I don't have the details yet.

Note that the order the episodes aired in the UK is very different to the order they aired in the US!
