If Shrek made it to Broadway, I don't see how this is any less ridiculous.

Because SpongeBob, in general, is more ridiculous than Shrek?

I don't see what's so bizzare about it. SpongeBob is a popular show with tons of material to rife through to make a musical from. It's probably a little egregious because it's another "musical based on TV or movie instead of something original" that's been plaguing Broadway for awhile now, but there are far worse adaptation ideas (9 to 5? Tuck Everlasting? Rocky? Sister Act? Ghost?).

I've watched it (certainly NOT a bootleg...) and it's okay; pretty good sets and creative costumes. The music is hit or miss; I really only like two of them, but it all comes down to personal music tastes.

And the Shrek musical is way better than it needed to be. The music is really good.

So, what I'm getting at - don't knock it 'til you listen to it / watch it.

I can't get away from that darn sponge!

No, I do not like Spongebob. I find him annoying, but that's just my opinion.

I’m not crazy about Spongebob either even though I used to. I was done with it when I saw some episodes that are hated by the fandom.

You think that’s bizarre, Mean Girls is getting a musical adaptation on Broadway! Now that’s ridiculous!

Should have just ended after the movie.

Oh, but no, we can't do that! SpongeBob is Nick's life support!

If it's any consolation, ARTHUR's future is finally looking pretty grim at this point.
