A while ago, I think it was in the 70's or 80's there were two shows on T.V. that aired right after each other, I don't remember the network, but one was called "Scorch" and starred a TV weatherman who had a puppet dragon living in his house that he took to his news program and caused a few problems. The other one I can't remember the name of but it invloved the story of a cartoonist who had this strange ability to make everything he imagined come to life literally. He had a little man who lived in his phone answering machine, faces that talked on the sides of his dresser mirror. It was weird and his family only barely tolerated his abilities, but it was fun to watch. My favorite moment was one time when his mother-in-law was bending over into the fridge to get some food and he thought of a boot hitting her in the butt.
Anybody else know anything about these two short-lived classics

Well, the cartoon one sounds more like an episode of the Twilight Zone...
Other than that, I'm afraid not.

Okay, so I had the date wrong, but they were interesting shows, you got to admit that. Special to Fragglemuppet: No the 'toon one was not an ep of the twilight zone, though it would make a good story, kind of along the lines of "It's A Good Life" only not as scary. It was a funny show, a lot of the humor was kind of adult so I'm not going to mention it here (I've given Philip enough grief as it is) If anyone remembers the title of it I'd like to hear about it. I wish these shows had lasted longer because they were good, even though they needed a cult style following in order to get going.

The cartoonist story was also an episode of "Amazing Stories". It was set on a B-24 bomber during World War Two. The belly gunner is a cartoonist who dreams of working with Walt Disney when the war is over. But the plane (captained by Kevin Costner) is damaged on a mission and one of the landing gear won't go down. And the belly turret of the plane had no way to escape. So the plane was going to have to land on its belly, killing the gunner.

At the last moment, the gunner pulls out his sketch pad, draws a picture of the plane with a big, cartoon style landing gear. When Costner tries to put the gear down one more time, the big cartoon gear pops out and they land safely.

Also featured Keifer Sutherland.

Wow, sounds interesting! Yeah, I was only kidding about the Twighlight Zone; it just sounded a little like something I read on a TZ episode guide. At least, I think that's what I remember...

a similar episode about a hen pecked cartoonist was part of the HBO anthology series "Tales from the Crypt" , the guy from night court played a cartoonist whos drawings started to come to life(he drew a horror/mystery comic similar to the ones the show was based around) and the drawings started to come to life, and the police women investigating it eventually foud out it was him, i believe thier is a scene were he attempts to espace his nagging wife by drawing her getting eat by a monster and the monster springs to life and eats her(very muppety ina way )
