But CDs themselves weren't very prevelant until the mid-to-late 90's & they stayed on top until digital downloading came into play.

Actually, it was the early 80s; the first CDs were introduced in Germany (for some reason) in 1982.

But that's not the question Colby was asking, so we're getting off topic here.

No, they were first introduced in the early eighties. That were coming into focus in the last latter part of the decade and they came prevalent by the mid to late nineties.

Yes... it did, but it was recorded in the eighties by Jim but it wasn't released till '93.
