Every so often MC gets a troll-- someone who joins the forum to spam it, usually in as offensive a manner as they can manage. PLEASE when you come across a troll, DO NOT REPLY! Report the posts and/or threads and we will delete them. The people who do this are trying to get a reaction-- if you do not respond they will go someplace else where they can get a reaction. Trying to reason with them is pointless and sinking to their level and calling them names only lets them know they got to you. Report the post(s) and ignore them.

Thanks!

Great reminder, MuppetQuilter!

Another good way to keep the peace is that if one feels argumentative to just step away from their computer for a little while. That will give them some time to think more about what they're trying to say and a way to say it more diplomatically, or enough time to cool down and ignore the whole thing.

The ignore feature is also available for folks who are bothered by certain other members, too. But, unfortunately, the ignore feature sometimes goes ignored.
