Well I think my choices would be:

1. Jim Henson
2. Frank Oz
3. Jerry Nelson
4. Richard Hunt
5. Dave Goelz
6. Steve Whitmire
7. Louise Gold
8. Carroll Spinney
9. Fran Brill
10. Kathryn Mullen

I wanted to include Kathy because having included the rest of the TMS 8, I didn't want to leave her out. But I have to say if I could have had two more choices I would probably have included Marty Robinson (to feature another great Sesame Puppeteer), and Jane Nebel (because she had such a key influence on the very earliest days of The Muppets).
I expect The Big Five plus Steve Whitemire would probably feature on most people's lists.

  1. Jim Henson
  2. Frank Oz
  3. Steve Whitmire
  4. Kevin Clash
  5. Dave Goelz
  6. Richard Hunt
  7. Jerry Nelson
  8. Marty Robinson
  9. David Rudman
  10. Fran Brill

Based strictly on technical ability, my list should be changed slightly, but I was also basing some of my list on humor. I must say that I would also add Matt Vogel and Bill Barretta, but I was stuck on my tenth choice.

Based only on technical ability, Frank would come first, I think. Then Steve, then Jim. But Jim is the funniest, most energetic performer of all, I think.
