I did! I lit candles and used no lights for an hour.

Good for you! I wanted to, but the people in my house didn't do it or didn't know about it. But I could make excuse up so I'll just say that I didn't use any electricity for a very long time today and that I need to try harder.

I was hosting a going-away party for a friend of mine last night, and we unplugged everything (even the fridge) and sat around with candles for the whole hour.. and the party didn't die down at all

Yeah, That's true! We have all year! We can always take time out every not and again to stop waisting the earths resources! Even if you celebrated on the day by show you're appreciation of the planet.

I did it. It was kinda cool, walking around the house with candles. And the hour went perty quickly. I think that its a really groovy idea!
