today's Sesame Street vs. the old Sesame Street.

My name is Sean, & I watch Sesame Street everyday with my 1 1/2 year-old son. I find the new Sesame Street kinda blah. Maybe it's because I'm used to the old one. The modern Sesame Street isn't as good as what it used to be. But I do kinda like the guy who took over Hooper's store...he's not a bad choice.

I have to agree with you.SS just isn't what it used to be.The 1970s shows were the best.Fortunately many of those shows are available on DVD.

First off welcome to the forum Sean.
I would agree about the new Sesame Street, it isn't as exciting, or entertaining a whole lot now like it was when we grew up with it. I was born in '76 so I recall the tail end of the 70's and watched through most of the 80's.

When I had my DVR I had it set to record SS on Noggin.. but most of it was the new shows, with a little bit of the old films, and cartoons thrown in but it just wasn't the same

"Pug Lover" mentioned that many of the 70's shows are available on DVD? Are you referring to the DVD's with consolidated skits with a theme - (Cookie Monster's "Best Bites")- or are there DVD's for sale with entire episodes from the 1970's out there somewhere?

The classic shows are just so much cooler - and bring back great memories.

It was the consolidated skits with a theme I referred to.Sorry about that.I should have been more specific.

I don't think there are any SS DVDs with entire 70s episodes.I think that's only been done more recently with The Electric Company.
