XERUS'S VOICE ARTIST FOCUS:

Today's V/A focus are the Thundercats. That popular cartoon from the 80's about a team of half human/half cats who protect an alternate Earth from evil forces. Rankin/Bass had used their own personal group of voice artists for this series.

LARRY KENNEY: Lion-O, Jackalman
BOB McFADDEN: Snarf, Slythe
EARLE HYMAN: Panthro, Ancient Spirits of Evil, Red Eye
PETER NEWMAN: Tygra, Wilykat, Ben-Gali, Monkian
LYNNE LIPTON: Cheetara, Wilykit, Warrior Maidens, Mandora, Luna
EARL HAMMOND: Jaga, Vultureman, Mumm-Ra, Amuck, Tugg-Mugg
DOUG PREIS: Lynx-O, Alluro
GERRIANNE RAPHAEL: Pumyra, Chilla

According to the Commentary on the movie "Stewie Griffin: The untold Story" the voices of Lion-o and Cheetara both reprised their roles for a cutscene. However, the voice of Snarf passed on, and Seth had to voice it himself.

I always wondered if Seth MacFarlane was a Thundercats fan. Mainly because a few of the Family Guy episodes did Thundercats references.

Also in American Dad, Stan ended up marrying a girl from Saudi Arabia whom he called Thundercat.

Also Seth had voiced Lion-O in some Robot Chicken skits.
