There was a segment on Sesame Street back in the late 1970s - early 1980s. It consisted of a closeup shot of a sunflower, which gradually panned back until the final shot was of the city rooftop where the potted sunflower grew. It was accompanied by classical guitar music. Can anyone tell me the name of the song???

Thanks in advance,

People know this tune as "Sad Flower". I'm not sure who composed it.

I'm pretty sure it's Vivaldi. Don't know the name of the piece.

Thank you! At least now I have some leads to search on. I have been trying to find a copy of "Sad Flower" for 20 years now...

If you find anything else, please keep posting!

You have been waiting 20 years, but you no longer have to! Many of us have it on tape, because it was on "Sesame Street Unpaved", which was a series of old episodes that Noggin ran at one time, but they don't show it anymore. So, you've come to the right place!

I remember they showed that clip right after the segment where Big Bird learns that Mr. Hooper died.
