It was a funny show. I still remember when that finale first aired - that little alien hymn of theirs (and how they couldn't remember all the words) is still fresh in my mind to this day.

This is honestly my favorite song animated by Sally Cruikshank.

...even though I will admit the face on Seymour's bed creeped me out as a kid.

(Random note, but my dad absolutely hates Paul Jacob's vocals in this song. :stick_out_tongue: )

Nothin' like some good old Beach Boys to honor the summer.

Definitely a guilty pleasure of mine; I shouldn't consider it that since the Beach Boys are legendary, but John Stamos on the steel drums and stuff.

This has got to be one of the most beautiful songs ever written.
I was only ever aware of the drums version; it's an interesting read if you check out the Wikipedia article that apparently the producer snuck back in and added the drums and stuff after it became a hit, without S&G knowing.

  • Bon Jovi, "Living on a Prayer"
  • Boston, "Peace of Mind"
  • Pink Floyd, "Money"
  • Bryan Adams, "Cuts Like a Knife"
  • Edgar Winter, "Frankenstein"
  • John Lennon, "Imagine"
  • The Cars, "Just What I Needed"
  • Eagles, "Hotel California"
  • The Police, "Roxanne"
  • Genesis, "That's All"
  • Creedence Clearwater Revival, "Who'll Stop the Rain?"
  • Steve Miller Band, "The Joker"
  • Fleetwood Mac, "Rhiannon"
  • Derek and the Dominoes with Eric Clapton, "Layla"
  • Supertramp, "The Logical Song"
  • The Knack, "My Sharona"
  • Aerosmith, "Walk This Way," "Last Child," "Sweet Emotion" (live), and "Train Kept A-Rollin'" (live on the Midnight Special)
  • Manfred Mann's Earth Band, "Blinded by the Light" (live on the Midnight Special)
  • Lynyrd Skynryd, "Freebird" (live on BBC2's Old Grey Whistle Test)
  • 38 Special, "Caught Up in You"
  • Thin Lizzy, "The Boys Are Back in Town"
  • Jimi Hendrix Experience, "Purple Haze"
  • Van Halen, "Hot for Teacher" ----the drum solo in the beginning is absolutely NUTS!!
  • Queen, "Killer Queen"
  • Led Zeppelin, "Rock and Roll" and (of course) "Stairway to Heaven"

I hate that song. GLEE killed it for me.
Not my favorite either, but still okay in my book. The 1980's songs are the weakest spots in the playlist when placed alongside tunes like "Layla," "The Joker," and "Stairway to Heaven" (although STH is quite overplayed imo).
