Keep in mind, this is applying to those who are still involved with the Muppets to this day (even if it's not on a continual/regular basis).

Guh! This was hard. Jerry, Dave (and Steve) are major inspiration to me all for different reasons. I ended up going with Dave in the end.

I voted for Dave Goelz, because his characters always seem so alive and full of "themselfness," both in shows and off script. Plus, he's built puppets, which is no easy task.

I chose Jerry Nelson, because he's Jerry Nelson! His voices are amazing, he's so versatile and full of life, and continues to great work as the Count and other great SS characters. :sing::crazy::fishy::search::batty::smirk:

It's gotta be Dave Goelz for me. Anyone who performs the Bunsen and Beaker duo will always be on the top spot in my book.:eek:

I'm surprised Frank doesn't have more votes seeing as he's...well he's Frank (I can't figure out how else to describe him). He's like the Sam to Jim's Frodo.
Very true, as a child I knew who Jim Henson was the way most kids did, but I also always knew about Frank Oz. When I was watching the documentaries as a kid my Mom pointed out that Frank Oz was Jim's close friend. They were a familiar team in popular culture.

Dave Goelz has a special place in my heart, his story and his characters, how he and they evolved and grew to be who they are today speaks volumes to me.

I went Dave... the fact that he really had to be pushed into the performing aspect and the fact that he is one of the ones that really carried the torch for the muppets... I felt bad that he seemed to not be in the new Muppets as much.
