I pray your sister continues to recover well. And your dreaming about your dad is probably your mind sorting things out in this difficult loss, as well as your deep love and longing for him and desire to talk with him. It is kind of a double thing there. On the one hand such dreams provide a way of interacting with the loved one lost but at the same time it is tough when the reality sets in about the loss. It's how I felt when I dreamed about my uncle who died at 49.
I'm wondering Kathy, do you have any video tape of your dad and family? We had some of my uncle at a wedding and I made a copy and sent it to his best friend who was really grieving about his death. I didn't know at first if I was doing the right thing because I feared it might cause more sorrow to see his good friend and know he is gone. But happily it turned out the other way. He said the tape brought him to tears but that they were tears of joy in seeing him talk and laugh with that great sense of humor of his. I imagine watching a video tape of your dad could be real tough but perhaps also would bring real joy to your heart too. Just a thought.
In any case, God's peace be with you. I haven't yet had to deal with the loss of a parent and am sure I have no idea just how painful it is until I go through it.

Thanks (((Ziff)))))
The idea of watching a video sounds good.Except that 99 % of the time he was on the operating end of the camera.
I just thought of something.About a week or so ago,my mother, sister & I were watching the tape of my brother's wedding. My dad was still alive & there were a few good shots of him .Especially one of him & my mom dancing to their wedding song (since their 40th anniversary a week before my brother got married) My mom ,my sister & I cried, naturally. But I guess things will get better sooner or later.
Talking to him in my thoughts helps .I guess between my sister being sick & then that dream it was tough. I know he watches down on me though.
Thanks again

As far as your dream is concerned; when my granmother passed, I was so devastated. One; because I started becoming distant and she died the day after I visited her and TWO; because she did not look good at her funeral (I HATE OPEN CASKET FUNERALS!!!!!!!!!!).

About a month later; I had a similar dream to yours (one so clearly that I still remember it as fresh as if I had it last night) where my grandmother looked stunningly beautiful and happy. She hugged me and it was so real... I could smell her perfume, I felt the pressure of her arms hugging me and I even felt the wisps of her hair on my face. That dream became closure for me, and there's a part of me that believes that my grandmother used my dream as a way to let me know everything was gonna' be all right.

I'm sure your dad would want you to remember all your happy times together, and maybe that dream you had was a good way to understand that.

At any rate: ((((((((hugs))))))))

Thanks ((((Dave/Vic)))))
My dad had an open casket & unfortunately he looked horrible! They did a rotten job on his makeup. All of us were upset, needless to say.
I suppose my dad was using that dream I had last weekend to let me know that he was all right & to not worry about him..I just couldn't help crying when I woke up though. But my mother was saying that he wouldn't want me to be crying. So I suppose she's right.
*HUGS*
