Speaking of old, educational shows. There's one I just...barely remember. It was this like soft-shoe detective, who was actually a very large kangaroo. XD There was a couple of other people, humans I believe, and he did something with math. It was like 15 minute programs, and I always watched them on PBS. We have a local channel here, on Time Warner it's channel 11. They used to show very old educational kids shows on there sometimes. Never got to see this one though.

But on that channel, I did once or twice get to catch "The Letter People" and some other old show, it was centered around a lighthouse, I believe? And had an old man talking to kids. I think it was about character values or something. They sometimes spoke French, so it may have been about the French language. It was a few years back. (probably more like 5 years ago, to be exact) and my memory is quite fuzzy. I'd love it if someone could help me perhaps on those two old programs.

And the one about "Bones"? Was that set in a library? Cause I believe I've watched "Readalong" but I'm not sure. An older lady would read to the children, usually she was a rocker, or a large chair of sorts, and she would read to the children.

I wish my memory was more intact then it is. XD

eBay. I got a set for me and one for my sister as part of her birthday gift. They pop up there quite a bit for reasonable prices, so check it out. And they would be the only DVDs you'll ever see---PBS was ordered to destroy the original tapes years ago, so this is pretty much the only way to get the series.

Hmm, I don't recall the kangaroo or lighthouse one...but I do remember another one in the early 90s about a talking Victrola and a lady who was its "friend"? Does anyone remember that? I've tried Googling descriptive phrases ("pbs talking victrola", etc.), but haven't found anything yet.

As for "Readalong", some of it was in a library, yes, but some was outside too on city streets (I think anyway...that could be "We Live Next Door" was just outside, but I though RA was too...I don't know for sure I guess).

Oh man, I know what ya mean---I would LOVE those!

And yay, you got the DVDs! Yeah, PBS was ordered to destroy the tapes when they changed The Letter People to make them more "politically correct" and "healthier".
