You know what's ironic? I'm mostly Scotch/Irish descent, and yet I don't even celebrate St. Patrick's Day and never think to . . . I honestly don't even know why. I guess because when I was a kid, nobody really made a big deal out of St. Patrick's Day like they do other holidays -- even today, St. Patrick's Day seems to be treated as a day where you're encouraged to booze your brains out (mainly because of the stigma that the Irish are drunkards).
I have a friend whose not even Irish, but he loves St. Patti's Day, if only because he feels it's the one day a year where the underrated color green gets the recognition it deserves, lol.
