Morning, all! Oh, thanks for asking, I'm fine. I've started walking on my sprained ankle again, but it's still pretty painful. It's just going to take awhile to heal. I'm definitely going to be more careful next time. It is so frustrating not to be mobile!

Has anyone ever heard of a particular Sesame Street cartoon video tape from the '80s; it included The Adventures of Super Grover, and a few others. Like Big Bird brings Spring to Sesame Street, The City Worm and the Country Worm, The Great Cookie Thief. I used to own it, unfortuantely, I lost it a long time ago (hopefully it was given to charity!).

Anyway, I recently found out Richard was narrator for the video's Super Grover sketches!

"He zooms through the sky smarter than a speeding bullet, furrier than a power locomotive, able to leap tall sandwiches in a single bound!"

I couldn't believe it, I used to watch that tape all the time, back when I was 3 years old!

This is another part I always liked,

Super Grover: "Remember this, kids, it is very important. Even if your mommy makes you a super hero costume, do not attempt to do any of these things, especially flying. Because you cannot do it. You do not have super powers. Because their is only one Super Grover. And that is me." (thanks imdb.com!)

By bizarre new show, I mean a show in which one of the characters is a puddle of water in a stopped-up sink.
That idea intrigues me for some reason! I wonder how they would have done that in real life.

Me too; all I know was that they kept running water into the sink and making it talk. And as I recall, Dave Goelz was providing the voice. I think it was all an exercise in ad-lib.

As for Richard, I don't know what song he was playing...but to my ears it sounded like an old English ballad or something. Sounded nice, too; I didn't know you could get that kind of sound out of a ukulele.

Well, in dreams you can! I love that idea of the talking running water, lol, it's something i could totally see them doing. It seems sort of like a "Jim Henson Hour" era idea. Weird and ambitous, you know?

Speaking of the Jim Henson Hour, I remember watching it when it was on, but at the time I didn't realize it was a TV show, I just thought there were an unusual number of Muppet specials that year!

Alright, I know I haven't posted here in a long, long time! I agree with the puddle of water thing, very JHH! Did Richard sing in the dream, or more to the point, were Jim and Jerery singing the same thing that he was playing? Do we know if Richard did play any instruments in real life? Wow, who knew that so many questions could stem from just one dream, lol!
More to the real reason I'm here... Congradulations Sarah on your engagement! It came as quite a shock, and what a nice one at that!

That's a good question, maybe Amanda can answer it next time she signs on.

Don't worry about not having posted for awhile, everyone's busy, you know.

Did Richard play any musical instruments in real life...we know that at least Jerry and Steve played a few musical instruments. But it said in Of Muppets and Men that most of the Muppeteers couldn't sight-read music all that well. Another question to ask Amanda...
I don't think Richard sang in the dream, and as for what Jim and Jerry were singing, I honestly don't remember what it was.

This has happened to me a few times, I've had dreams where the people in it sing an entire song, something I've definitely never heard before. Then the next morning, I can't remember how it went at all. I can never figure out if there was an actual song in the dream, or if I was just imagining it.

Hey Herald... I remember that video series, though I think I only had the following:
Big Bird Brings Spring to Sesame Street.
Super Grover and the Three Bears.
Super Grover and the Fishing Trip.

You can try finding it on eBay, saw one a few days ago.
Hope this helps.
