Right, according to Muppet Wiki, the first job she worked on was The Muppet Movie, and then she went on to work with The Muppet Show.

Oh, ok. Thank you for clearing that up.

I know that Karen went from Sesame Street to the Muppet Show.

Yes, right around the last season. And there's that amusing photo of her with the rest of the cast (and her using Richard's right shoulder as a footstool).

The Muppet crew really goes through a lot - they've been crammed into old cars and buses, stacked on special elevators at Knebworth Hall, submerged in tanks, blasted with dust and debris...have I forgotten anything?

Richard: Yeah...we've had to do it all with at least one arm up in the air.

Yeah I love that photo, lol.

In the Muppets Take Manhattan DVD, Jim Henson talks about all the walking scenes they had to do out in the open. They all had to lay down on a rolling dolley together. I believe he described it as very "silly." Lol

I've been wondering about this clip. The hand featured here could be Richard's though it's never been confirmed. The main reason I think so is because the hand in question does what appears to be the "head tilt" move. Any thoughts?

Yeah, he looks absolutely petrified. Think of it as Munch's "The Scream," revisited. (But I'll bet he was just doing that for the benefit of the camera, that he really didn't mind Karen's foot on his shoulder.)

Well, yes, that would have looked a little unusual - a group of adults lying on their backs on a dolly with their arms up in the air. But I'll bet they had a lot of interested spectators.

Good question - Richard's puppets are usually the ones doing the famous head tilt, so it could be him.

Yeah I think it was for the picture, it looks like one of those photos where you're all told to ham it up, lol.

Yeah we'll probably never know but I'm willing to bet it's him. The "head tilt" thing really looks right. And he'd enjoy being able to beat up Kermit like that Lol. And then apologize at the end, fits with a lot of his characters.

(I love Kermit on Sesame Street btw, he always got to be a bit more silly, lol).

I know - they're all bunched up against each other, with their hands and their chins on each other's shoulders. Must have been during a goofing-off moment (one of at least a million) in the performer's lounge.

And hey, wait a moment - maybe that's the side of Richard that Beaker comes from. It's not hard to imagine him doing a few frightened "meeps!" with that look on his face.

Three years later, everyone in that photo would be working on Fraggle Rock - they don't call them Silly Creatures for nothing, don't ya know.

Oh yeah you're right, I hadn't thought of that! Like I said in an earlier post, sometimes you can almost see the characters in their performers.

In the "Scared Silly" segment, for two seconds, Richard sort of resembles one of those Muppet Show monsters, lol (I mean that in a nice way lol). Perhaps the workshop was influenced over the years, hehe.

Somehow, I can just tell that that hand is Richards! I just can't see it being anyone else's. In a way I can tell by it's personality.
