chapter 1
The young married couple were preparing to settle down for their evening meal that night.
Their caretaker had just finished painting their dining room a beautiful navy blue colour and he had also built them a brand new sturdy dining table. They were so delighted with the work he had put into both jobs and commented to each other as they set the table and prepared to get ready to eat.
"Bill has been the best caretaker we've ever had Beth."
Beth had to agree with her husband. "You definitely cannot deny it Nate. And I so adore it when he entertains us every now and then by that cute little trick he has of being able to blow bubbles right out of his head."
"That's cool all right. Bill sure is great."
And so Beth and Nate prepared to enjoy their dinner, when suddenly their dining room became full of huge, enormous bubbles. They were everywhere, in their faces and every direction they turned. It was impossible to avoid them. They kept the couple immobilized for something like half an hour and when it stopped they didn't know what to think.
"What happened?" asked Beth.
"I don't know. But bubbles. Could this be Bill's idea of a sick joke?" Nate rose out of his chair. "He must be around somewhere. I'm going to find him and give him a piece of my mind."
Beth followed Nate around the rest of their home and found to their horror that while they had been trapped they had been robbed. Paintings, ornaments, money and other various valuables had been stolen. Poor Beth burst into tears.
Nate snatched up the phone shouting, "That does it. I'm calling the police."
Later that night Bill the Bubble Guy had a terrible shock when he was arrested at his own home by Constable Barry Lee and Sargent Dave Ebersole. He was questioned at the station and Nate and Beth wanted to know why he had betrayed them and where their belongings were.
"I never did anything wrong. Honest I'm innocent." Bill looked so innocently harmless that Beth found it very hard to believe he had robbed them. Yet who else could have set up those bubbles?
