Well, for one it would have actually gotten made. What if a Fraggle Rock movie was made while Jim Henson was still alive?
I think a Jim Henson Fraggle Rock movie would have had a visual update to the Fraggle World, much like they did with Follow That Bird. It would have been more expansive and detailed.
Instead of the fraggles going into "outer space" they would have gone the opposite direction and we would have seen the Gorg world expanded on. Perhaps Traveling Matt would have seen something in "outer space" which reminds him of some Gorg legend that he writes to Gobo about. This time, Matt sends a package to Gobo that includes a strange Gorg artifact. The artifact is sent to Docs new home and he now knows who Gobo is so he puts the mail in a little mail box for him. Sprokect, however, takes the artifact thinking its a toy or something.
Gobo reads the post card, but doesn't see the artifact mentioned. He is intrigued by the old Gorg legend and decides to venture past the Gorg's garden in search of this legend. Gobo and the gang make their way to a Gorg city that has been long abandoned, perhaps Junior Gorg joins them on the journey. We find out what happened to the Gorg population, maybe they destroyed themselves by building the ultimate weapon for defense against the ancient Fraggles, or even ancient humans, and the weapon was ultimately turned against them.
What Matt found in "outer space" was an ancient Gorg artifact from a long forgotten Gorg and human civilization on display in a museum. Doc, who has since moved to his new house and taken an interest in archaeology, being in the desert and all, visits the same museum that Matt is at and is the only one who can see him. Doc has to work with Matt to figure out how the artifacts are all connected and rebuild the ancient machine of the Gorgs. In fact, it's Doc that uncovers one of the final pieces which is why he is at the museum exhibit.
Along the way Gobo finds a communication device that connects to one of the artifacts Matt is holding and the two discuss their separate findings. It turns out that this device was the same type of artifact that Matt sent to Gobo, the one Sprocket took by mistake. Doc and Matt can't figure out the final missing piece and Gobo says "if only we had a Doozer to consult". THat is when Sprocket's device activates and Gobo tells him to go into Fraggle Rock and find a Doozer and bring him to the museum right away.
In the end Junior, a Doozer, and the fraggles solve the puzzle and put the ancient device back together and reverse the effects of the Gorg weapon. The Gorgs are back, but have learned a lesson in peace. Junior, Ma, and Pa move into the city with the rest of their kind. Junior leaves the garden open for the fraggles and vows to return each year to plant new radishes for them.
