Are we supposed to believe he's really dead, or are we supposed to sit on the edge of our seats and wait for future commercials where we see he somehow miraculously survived that firey bus crash?

William Shatner's "character" in those commercials, always finding people better deals on booking hotels for vacations and stuff?

Yeah, apparently there was this family on a bus that ran off the road and was hanging over a cliff, he arrived in his usual fashion to save them (and save them money on their next vacation)... then the bus finally went over the cliff, with him inside, and now there's these commercials where people mourn his loss, but then get all giddy over the deals he helped them make.

i actually read an article a few months before the commercial aired that priceline was going to kill off the character because they wanted to change the way they market themselves and Shatner wasnt bringing in the business they wanted....but then again ive always heard shatner sorta owned priceline

Yeah. He was on some show and complained about it.

Seriously... what market wouldn't want to see William Shatner? Even if you absolutely hate Star Trek, he's quite the comedic actor outside of that. I'm very disappointed that &^%$ My Dad says got canned and they keep bringing back the UNFUNNY Rules of Engagement over and over. And just when SMDS was getting good.

I do like Star Trek, but I genuinely feel the ST actors are MUCH when they're out of the show. Patrick Stewart in American Dad, Michael Dorn in I Am Weasel, Will Wheton as himself on Big Bang Theory.... they all get to hang loose and become these great comedic actors when they're out of the mindset of being in one thing specifically. Sure, they're their most famous roles, but they can do a LOT more outside of that.

I like Shatner when he's being Shatner. I wish I watched more of Boston legal When I had a chance.

I'll be honest I've been wondering the same thing. My Dad thought I was crazy, lol.

Well, it looks like the Negociator survived after all.

I couldn't hear all of the dialogue of the commercial (the specific channel has sucky audio, where it's like the music score and sound effects completely drown out the people's dialogue), but we see him at the bottom of the cliff, in front of a beach, showing Priceline prices on his iPhone or iPad or whatever to the guy standing next to him, before he picks up a large piece of wreckage, and makes his way towards the ocean; the guy asks him where he's going, and he replies, 'Wherever the waves take me!"
